Feeding the homeless went really well. The people are always so happy to see you. There was a gentleman there who was so sweet. He was a grandpa type guy and he just loved the little things. He kept thanking me and we talked in between me serving other people. I was sad when he finished his food and left. When I went to help out in the main dining area a guy started to hit on me. I'm not used to that! I'm so modest and...not flirty, that it hardly ever happens to me. He asked for my number and I politly said no. I saw a lady from one of my classes this past semester. That was weird. God bless her. I hope all is ok with her. She was really grumpy. I'm praying for her.
Saturday I helped out the people at my church who's house had the fire awhile back. I was planning on helping them throw away more of their house. The guy forgot I was coming and didn't even tell his wife, so I wound up helping with yard work instead. They have a big property and the grandparents have a house there that wasn't affected by the fire.
I started shopping for my internship! I'm getting so excited about it. I got some cool 70's looking sheets and some nice outfits for in the office. I just can't wait to be down there. Ah, it is coming to soon at the same time! There is still a lot of prep to do.
I heard from Jon on Sunday! I was so surprised. He was my buddy in S.Africa. He has been councling at camps since he got home, so I didn't expect to hear much from him. Plus he lives in Canada and I'm in the US, so to get a call was a pleasent surprise. It made my day! Nina, my sort of leader in S.Africa, called tonight but my phone was getting no reception so it didn't ring :( I got her messege and I'll try calling her back in the morning. I love them so much! I can't wait to see them all again someday. Nina might be at the internship with me! I pray she is!
I should try and get some rest now. I have to go to the docs tomorrow and see why my ears still have not popped since landing 2 weeks ago. Plus I have all this icky flem and it's making me sick to my tummy. Pray for me!
