We went into two different towns to minister, Qwa Qwa and Intabazwe. What we would do was go from house to house and start to get to know the people. We would help them with whatever they needed help with and most of the time that ended up being laundry and dishes. The people were so amazing. They had nothing, yet would give you everything they owned. When they made tea, in order to have enough most of the time, they had to use 1 tea bag for 2 cups. They loved to sing and dance. A lot of the time we would sing first and then they would sing back to us. It was amazing. This one little girl sang a song and it almost made me cry because her voice was so sweet and gentle. I miss those kids. They were amazing.
The experiance that sticks out the most in my mind was when we went to the first house in Intabazwe. We went into this home and started to talk to this girls family. Then they brought her out. Marriem was in a wheel chair and could not talk because her jaws were locked shut. She was so depressed and would not look at all of us. She tried to turn her face from us and would shrug us off. We got to tell her family about Jesus and how he died for them and rose again. We told them about how much Jesus loves them. Her family dedicated their lives to Christ! Praise God! All through out our time in their home we were praying for Marriem's healing. While we were praying I felt God telling me to take off my hair wrap and wash Marriem's feet and neck with it. I kept thinking of the verse that says, "what you do unto the least of these you do unto me," and remember the woman washing Jesus feet with her hair. So I washed her feet and neck and then gave her the wrap as a remembrance of her healing. We kept praying with her and did not see any sudden healing. It was ok with us though. We prayed and prayed and then decided to let Marriem have some space and left. A few days later we went back to see how she was doing. Praise God! She was no longer in a wheel chair!!! Her mother said it was like a depression was lifted off of her and she was happy and smiling and walking! Marriem kept laughing with us. It was so beautiful. She still could not talk, but in God's time she will. She was wearing the wrap around her waist and her mother said she wouldn't let anyone touch it because it reminder her of me. Wow. God has mighty plans for Marriem!
I'm going to go make my Mom breakfast now! I am getting my pictures from South Africa today, so hopefully I'll be able to get some on a website for all of you to see. :) God bless you all!
