Is lent a catholic thing and protastants just follow? I think it is a totally cool thing. But my church's youth group always goes to a Catholic church for it. We used to go to this one but then they hired a gay priest and that put an end to that. And how can a priest be gay? Aren't they supposed to be celabate or however that is spelled? So wouldn't that mean it wouldn't matter what their preference is because they ain't getting any? This is confusing to me!
So lent. I'm not giving up food like what seems to be the normal. I don't need to give up any food because shopping around here gets weird plus I'm not eating that junky anyways and there is not something I'm addicted too...except maybe crossaunts and mochas or hot chocolate from Starbucks. So I'm giving up TV, unless it is watching a movie for my psychology class. Because then it is for a grade! I am also limiting my internet time to 1 hour a day. This will make it so I'm not so stubburn to do my devo and I will have more time to read and have quite times with God. Plus I will get off my butt more which is a good thing.
Now lent goes until easter right? I need someone to fill me in on all this lent buisness. And what is the actual reason for it? I feel so ignorant to this.
